Horses occasionally graze the meadow and wild deer, foxes, badgers, wood peckers and hawks are frequent visitors. Numerous circular footpaths in the wooded hills can be accessed from the meadow, and the community shop in the next village and the local Fox and Hounds pub renowned for its food are both walkable in 15 minutes.
Numerous attractions in the area include Longleat Safari Park approximately 15 minutes away, cultural cities of Bath (Spa Baths) and Salisbury (Cathedral and Magna Carta) to name a few.
