A surprising hidden gem and located in the heart of the picturesque village of Galmpton, The Old Shop House is a charming 3-bedroom property that combines traditional charm with contemporary features. The property, along with two of its neighbours, used to form the main shop in the village and the owners have slowly been restoring its original features.
As you step inside the property you climb the staircase to the first floor where you find the cosy lounge with a feature fireplace with alcoves either side and two plush sofas arranged around a matching pouffe. A wonderful place to sit and relax in the evening either reading a book borrowed from the bookshelf, catching up on a programme on the SMART TV or listening to a podcast on the Sonos system. Tasteful artwork and soft lighting create an inviting atmosphere.
The modern kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, including a large oven with gas hob, integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer as well as a wine cooler. Wooden worktops and an inset sink add to the charm along with a wooden dining table with chairs for up to 6 guests. The rear door leads out to the first of the outside spaces with a fully enclosed courtyard with seating.
Ascending the stairs to the upper floors, you'll discover the three bedrooms. The third bedroom is accessed up a spiral staircase to the top floor housing a spacious bedroom with kingsize and a single bed, perfect for families and the skylights brighten the room and offer views over the village and the raised terrace garden at the rear.
The highlight of the property is the rear outside terrace accessed via the courtyard and up a flight of external steps. The terrace is beautifully designed for entertaining with a comfortable outdoor dining area and, for the experienced pizza enthusiast, a large outdoor pizza oven.
