The space
Inside, the upside-down house embraces rural scenery, with wide windows in the kitchen/dining/living space looking out to the horses and sheep in the fields immediately behind and over the barns and farms of Illand to the other side of the valley. Décor inspired by nature and the local landscape, slate and oak finishes and quality appliances and devices combine to create a calm and cosy home with every comfort catered for.
Outside, cook up some local produce over the firepit and then throw on a few extra logs to stay out and star gaze. Or feed everyone from the Weber charcoal BBQ and dine in the sunshine on the patio. You’ll find the hot tub half tucked under a shelter decked with fairy lights, a little refuge whatever the weather.
A guided tour…
Park up, plug in, push open the gate. Walk through the courtyard, past the hot tub, up to the entrance and garden. Double doors open to a large high-ceilinged hallway from which steps take you up to the main living space and down to bedroom 1, the bathroom and utility area.
Bedroom 2 is off the hall, a peaceful room where the ponies stop to drink outside the window. A super king size zip-link bed can be split into two singles with an additional pull-out short single drawer bed.
The kitchen is thoughtfully and well equipped. Dishwasher, oven, induction hob, microwave, 2 fridges, a slate worktop and a waney edged oak peninsula with breakfast bar seating and a pop-up socket with wireless charger.
Snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy a 43” inch smart TV or just connect your tunes to the Bluetooth sound bar. At night the room transforms from light and bright to warm, glowing and inviting.
Downstairs your way will be lit automatically to the bathroom which features a massive walk in rain shower; bedroom 1 is to your right, with a king size bed and loads of storage. To the left are a separate washer and dryer.
At the end of the garden and a day’s adventures, the patio will catch the last rays and the BBQ and firepit wait to be enjoyed.
