Summary: Our stay at Monkbridge was outstanding from the moment we arrived. In fact even before arrival with the informative welcome email explaining check in and directions etc. We were so warmly welcomed and shown to our room, everything explained so well. We stayed in room 1 which had a beautiful four poster bed, it was so gorgeous. Immaculately clean. So traditional and individual yet had all the modern comforts of a posh hotel. With complementary tea coffee and home made biscuits even a welcome Sherry. There is a payable mini bar with very reasonable prices. All toiletries are in the bathroom and there is a Hair dryer provided. The breakfast is what takes this from a beautiful hotel to an absolutely five star spectacular one. I travel extensively for work spending a lot of my life in different hotels and guest houses and I can say this is without a doubt the best breakfast I have ever had. The Irish soda bread is what dream are made of. The venison sausage, beautifully cooked bacon and the mushrooms were so delicious my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Absolutely recommend. Really central location, really helpful and friendly staff. Can’t think of one thing to fault. Outstanding.
