Positive: Please ignore my previous review which was for a very different property in France . This review is for little pound house: Lovely looking old & quirky cottage in a most beautiful area with lots of really quiet rural walks. Cottage has a small but functional kitchen. Steep wooden stairs, comfy bed & a lovely bath with an abundance of hot water. Clean property. Access to a huge shared garden with great views. Welcome bottle of wine. Friendly hosts.

Negative: The property is part of two acomodations in one building (semi) with the hosts in what looks like the wrap around section & guests stay in the other part. There was an old gate style door with a gap at the bottom (In the picture it's the one next to the arm chair. The other doors are one for the stairs & other for the kitchen) This door, although bolted on both sides, linked the guests & hosts living areas. Had we known this beforehand it is unlikely we would have booked, as we do not want to be so close as to hear other people's daily activities. We were surprised & disheartened to find we could clearly hear our hosts in their kitchen as the sound (& smell) of their cooking, talking, clocks chiming, coughing & phone ringing came through loud & clear into our section. The pictures show a lovely seating area outside double doors looking over fields but this their seating area & although when we arrived we were offered the use of this area while they were at work, it was a bank holiday weekend and they were at home. Plus you have to go round the other side of the house. There was also a shared garden with the hosts & an additional guest staying in a shepherd hut half way down the garden, so not exactly private. Acces to the hosts property and the shepherd hut was past our door & lounge window. Also the bins were right outside our door so this was a busy area & not relaxing to have people passing so close & often. We did find a semi secluded spot right at the end of the garden where we relaxed for a lovely very sunny afternoon. Front door sticks on the floor so you have to give it a good shove to get in or out. Gets a bit frustrating after a day or so. This is an easy fix. Just shave some wood off the bottom of the door. Please.
