At 15 km from Amsterdam, in the polder countryside between farmhouses, and 2 minutes from the Zaanse Schans, lies our home with its charming, fully self-supporting guesthouse for 1-10 persons (even till 20pers.).
There is a terrace, and a big garden are all around the house and in the grass land you find enough space to play football.
The guesthouse is built against our house, which gives you all the privacy you need, while having us always nearby if you need help with anything.
Ideal for families with kids, 5 couples, 10 friends, but also often used as a writers 'and artists' retreat.
The house has 4 bedrooms plus a big living / dinner space.
The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and relatively basic. We have central heating, free WIFI, mp3 plugin, TV.
Downstairs:
Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave / grill / oven and coffee machine.
Entrance with big living / dinner room, a 10-person dinner table (+ children / baby chairs). A toilet and a bed room with separate bathroom.
Upstairs:
2 double bed rooms with king size bed and 1 room with a bunk bed.
A bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
A car would be most convenient, but if you come without, we can pick you up from the Zaanse Schans train station (train from Amsterdam) or Zaandam-Kogerveld (train from Schiphol airport).
Note that without a car you will have to like the idea of cycling around as the Dutch do. It's a beautiful biking area, and we provide bicycles in all sizes, if you wish with baby seats to get around during your stay, go to the shops, to the trainstation etc., as walking might be a little bit too far or inconvenient along the road we live.
Our house is 5 minutes away from the world's famous open air museum Zaanse Schans, with its historic houses and windmills to visit. Here you will feel and relive the history of the Netherlands.
Or course the house is also a perfect operating base for visiting and going out in Amsterdam. The house is nearby Amsterdam, about 15 kilometers away.
The house has lots of space with a big garden where you can eat, drink a glass of wine, BBQ, enjoy the sun and your kids can play all they like.
The house is decorated with beautiful old and new design furniture and ornaments. The bedrooms are stylish, warm and full of color. You feel home immediately!
