3 Bedroom House in Balmacara, Kyle of Lochalsh

Standing above Lochalsh in its own secluded grounds and surrounded by the National Trust for Scotland woodland gardens. South facing and in a magnificent setting with wonderful views of sea and the mountains of Skye rising to over 1000m. Although extremely private, lying along its own track of around 300m, it is only 3-4 minutes by car to Kyle of Lochalsh which has a railway station (the scenic railway line to Inverness really is world famous!) a bank, shops and an excellent supermarket. There is also a smaller supermarket and Post Office about a mile away. Our garden has a large lawn and is planted with Magnolias and mature species Rhododendrons from Bhutan, China and Nepal and which flower from February until August.
Doubled glazed with fitted carpets throughout; night storage heating and wood/coal burning stoves; both off-peak and instant electric hot water. If you want to keep in touch, we offer free Fast Fibre Wireless broad band WiFi. It is a wonderful location with great privacy. The skies above us in winter are ink-black and intoxicating - perfect for star-gazing! (when did you last see the Milky Way .....?!)

Summary: The area was beautiful. We had an SUV that we could barely get through the gate & very hard to turn around. The house was old but very eclectic. It was damp & cold. It was kinda difficult having the bathroom on the first floor with all the bedrooms upstairs but luckily we didn’t have problems with stairs.
