The flat is ground floor so it's easy access. It is next door a beautiful old set of buildings, that used to house naval workers.Its now a private estate but you can look around. In the area there are many similar compounds with lots of history.
There are nearby parks, particularly Crystal Palace Park less than 10 minutes away.
There are several pubs and restaurants. My recommendations would be Bistro Chez Yves on Maple Road, Hayaku Sushi Cafe for something more informal.
Recommended pubs are the Alexandra, the Bridge Tavern and Southey Brewery. There are many others though.
Penge High Street is charming with all the amenities you need. Nearby Crystal Palace or Beckenham have yet more shops, bars and restaurants.
