6 Bedroom Cottage in Petty France, Hawkesbury
Cotswold Manor House is a fabulous country pad for 20 plus ten. Very grand and oh-so English, the house is steeped in history, yet bursting with 21st century conveniences. The emphasis here is on group fun - it's an idyllic place to let your hair down and celebrate!
The Manor House is set in glorious Cotswold countryside on the edge of the Badminton Estate in the picturesque hamlet of Petty France. Once home to Prime Minister Robert Banks Jenkinson (and subsequently the Duke of Beaufort and Wordsworth's family), it is believed that Lord Wellington visited during the Battle of Waterloo… The only disputes today however will be who gets to the hot tub first or who has to light the yawning fireplaces!
Beyond the sweeping gated drive and beautifully landscaped grounds, the spacious ground floor reception rooms are bathed in natural light and understated elegance, with period fireplaces and intricate mouldings. Set up your soundtrack on the Bluetooth sound system and cook up a storm in the imposing kitchen. Retaining its period features, the well equipped kitchen has been modernised with wine coolers and an ice machine - the perfect setting for preparing a self catering option. Or hire in an one of the area's award winning chefs. Gather your tribe in the large dining room with separate bar area and open fire and discuss the day. Then kick back on the soft sofas in the lounge, kept warm by another open fire, or enjoy a catch-up in the conservatory.
There are six gorgeous bedrooms all together sleeping up to 20 and an additional ten guests can be accommodated. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with en suite shower room suitable for guests with limited mobility. There are four en suites, including two with baths, and an additional wc on both the ground and first floors.
Outside, peace and quiet reigns. The secluded spot enjoys a beautiful garden with landscaped grounds extending to far-reaching views of the surrounding Area of Outstanding Local Beauty. Kick back and relax in a sun trap or shaded area, jump in the hot tub, take tea on the patio or lawn or enjoy a Champagne picnic surrounded by magnificent shrubs and trees. As night approaches, settle in for a sophisticated soiree in the covered outdoor area and let the party bubble over in the hot tub.
Cotswold Manor House is the perfect venue for unforgettable hen weekends, grand house parties, family get togethers and all types of corporate breaks.
The Manor House is also child-friendly. Perfect for little ones, there's plenty of outdoor space for them to let off steam. Watch as they play tag, search for mini beasts or play games on the lawn. The bedrooms are perfect for families too.
There's plenty to keep you on site and lots of reasons to venture out into the beautiful Cotswold countryside!
Across the road, you will find a traditional dog and family-friendly country pub. As well as serving drinks, it boasts lunch and evening menus as well as speciality foods on theme nights.
Set in the lovely south Cotswolds, the countryside around the gorgeous Georgian style house is absolutely beautiful, with long country walks available from the front door. The Badminton estate is on the doorstep, Westonbirt Arboretum is only five miles and Dyrham Park is eight miles. The lovely nearby country towns of Tetbury (home of the Prince of Wales), Cirencester and Chipping Sodbury are well worth visiting, and kids will never be bored, thanks to the nearby attractions.
Or venture further afield to popular destinations like Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Moreton in Marsh. Bath and Bristol are also just 25 minutes away for those large groups who are looking for something a little more lively..
The list of things to do is endless from driving experiences at nearby Castle Combe to flying at Kemble, paint-balling, clay pigeon shooting, art, dance and other creative activities, cocktail making and some of the country's best shopping. We are very happy to help you plan any group activities.
