The village of Lochearnhead is located at the western end of Loch Earn, a Highland Loch surrounded by mountains and 317ft above sea level. Lochearnhead is a popular area because of the loch and the wide range of watersports on offer, including water-skiing, canoeing, and sailing. At its centre there is a village shop, a post office, and a pub among other small businesses such as B&Bs and a hotel. The Lochearhead Highland Games are held here annually in summer, and they have been a classic part of Scottish culture for centuries. The larger city of Perth lies around 40 miles east, with Glasgow around 50 miles to the south.
