With breath-taking, uninterrupted views across Loch Tay, Chapelburn Cottage offers a luxurious Highland escape for families or groups of friends. Nestled into the hillside and surrounded by the wild beauty of Perthshire, this spacious and characterful retreat provides the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and tranquillity. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel a sense of fun and wonder—this is no ordinary holiday home.
Inside, original stone walls, elegant windows, and unique architectural features nod to the cottage’s history, while modern furnishings and thoughtful touches ensure a truly relaxing stay. At the heart of the home, a striking double-sided wood burner adds warmth and atmosphere to the lounge. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame stunning loch views, and upstairs, roof balcony windows open to the Highland skies. All five beautifully appointed bedrooms offer spectacular outlooks, with three opening directly onto the terrace, allowing nature to flow indoors. A contemporary extension provides a large, open-plan living space ideal for cooking, dining, and unwinding together. Step outside to an expansive balcony with a sunken hot tub, BBQ area, and stylish seating—all perfectly positioned behind glass balustrades to make the most of the view, even from the bubbles. A short stroll down to the garden will enable the whole group to enjoy the views from a large glazed sauna positioned next to the burn where a cascading waterfall feeds a natural plunge pool, once used for village baptisms; now a truly Nordic style wind down.
While the cottage itself may tempt you never to leave, the surrounding area is packed with things to explore. Just a short drive away is the conservation village of Kenmore, offering a shingle beach, lochside walks, welcoming eateries, and the Crannog Centre—a fascinating Iron Age reconstruction.
With Loch Tay as your constant backdrop, activities like wild swimming, paddleboarding, loch cruises, or fishing are right on your doorstep. Walk from the cottage straight into the hills, tackle local Munros, or cycle through the dramatic landscapes of Glen Lyon, one of Scotland’s most remote and beautiful glens. Positioned in between Aberfeldy and Killin, the cottage enables guests to immerse themselves in the Scottish countryside whilst having local amenities only a short drive away.
Nearby Fortingall is home to the ancient Fortingall Yew, believed to be the oldest living tree in Europe. The village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart offer postcard-worthy beauty, friendly pubs, and independent shops. For a more lively day out, head to Aberfeldy for art galleries, riverside cafés, a renowned bookshop, and the Dewar’s whisky distillery.
There are plenty of activities for Thrill-seekers, ranging from quad biking to axe throwing, canyoning and white water rafting, whilst the “chill seeker” can enjoy golf at one of three local golf clubs or spend time bird-watching Osprey and Golden Eagles. Join a Highland Safari on land or water to spot local wildlife and learn about the history of the area, or simply roam the miles of trails surrounding the cottage. Whether you’re in search of peace or adventure, Chapelburn Cottage delivers both.
