A short drive to the Lake District National Park brings an abundance of walks, cycle routes, wildlife, mountains, and lakes. Your nearest lake is Ennerdale Water which is 5 miles away. Ennerdale is regarded as one of the most unspoilt areas of the Lake District and is full of wildlife including red squirrels, osprey and buzzards. If that’s not enough, Loweswater is just 10 miles away which leads to Crummock Water and then Buttermere.
Whitehaven, 5 miles, has good restaurants, supermarkets, shopping, and a popular harbour. St Bees Head Heritage Coast is 6 miles away, offering excellent coastal walks and golden sandy beaches, very popular with families and dog lovers.
