Positive: the location of the cottage is fantastic, high Lorton is a tiny beautiful quiet village, there was a stream directly behind the house that the kids loved. there was a good village shop with local produce and good coffee and the kids could play on the playground at the local school. The cottage was cozy and cute.

Negative: The cottage is outdated and it needs love. It was clean, everything worked but it all looked a bit run down. The garden is not like in the picture at all. it is not a communal garden and it didn't have a view. its a very small patio, not a garden, but a stone terrace with 3 garden bins in it and a high wooden fence through it. the contrast with the neighbouring cottage (which was well kept, with river view, beautiful flowers and a good garden set was huge) It didn't have any reception (phone or 4G) and no wifi, luckily we could use the neighbours wifi to make pub reservations and travel plans. It is a nice cottage, but I would book another one in the village if I would go again. The host was hard to reach, I couldn't reach them via booking.com, and the people from the company that rented out the cottage where nice on the phone, but didn't follow up on our questions about towels and the bed.

Summary: beautiful located, but more outdated then on the pictures, not a nice garden
