In the living room is a double sofa bed in front of a TV, the perfect spot to unwind in after a day of exploring. There is a separate room with a kitchenette as well as a dining table for two. The kitchenette has a microwave as well as a plug-in two ring hob so that you can cook small meals, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer – ideal for longer stays. Glaisdale is a quaint, picturesque village on the edge of the National Park, offering miles of tumbling hills of heather and ancient woodlands. The property is situated just 10 miles from the coastal town of Whitby, with its year round events and festivals such as the Goth Weekend and the Steampunk Weekend. Famous for its link to Dracula, the abbey and its award winning fish and chips, Whitby has something for everyone. For something a bit different, you can take a steam train journey into ‘Heartbeat’ country Goathland, or head out to sea from Whitby on a boat trip, where you could see seals and whales. Ride on horseback, glide over the sea on a paddleboard, or even fly through the tree tops on a zip wire – there are lots of outdoor activities all within an hour’s drive.
Out in the National Park, the skies are illuminated by millions of stars, so ensure you take a moment to gaze out at the sky on a clear night. This is a great choice for dog lovers, with many walking trails to explore together, as well as the beaches, coves and cliff top footpaths with incredible panoramic views.
