Positive: The property itself is genuinely great and matches the photos well. It’s a lovely house with strong facilities, and the hot tub, sauna, and cinema room were the main reason we chose to stay.

Negative: The experience was let down by poor management & access issues. We were not allowed early check-in, but even at the official 3pm check-in, cleaning continued for over an hour after we arrived. There was also no shampoo or conditioner in the bathrooms, which we had to flag before it was refilled by the cleaning lady who was on her shift at the time. Once the cleaning lady handed the property over after 4:15 pm, we were only able to reach the host/ co-host after 6pm as no one was answering our phone before that. During this time, we had no access to the garden/hot tub/sauna, as these required an access code that only the host could provide—frustrating given these facilities were central to our booking. There was also an uncomfortable incident involving the garden key. On arrival, the key was on the door, so we kept it safely in a jacket pocket. While cleaning, the cleaner locked the living area and allegedly removed the key from my jacket pocket to place it in the lockbox, which she denied when raised & felt inappropriate. The cinema room had an incorrect lock (different passcode) which also took 2 additional hours to get it sorted. At that point, we even suggested leaving with a full refund as we couldn’t properly enjoy the property until 8-9 pm, but this was declined due to the non-refundable policy. When we raised that the hot tub wasn’t heating properly, we were advised to wait, which wasn’t ideal for a 1-night stay. To their credit, some compensation was offered: a discount on the outdoor facilities & a late check-out to offset the delayed cleaning but it was already too late by then & the refund could not possibly compensate for the bad experience. Some parts of the house are slightly worn or broken & facilities dirty (e.g. coffee pot) - photos attached - though overall the house itself is very nice.
