On the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and overlooking Dynefwr Castle in the Towy Valley, lies The Old Forge, a one bedroomed rural retreat. Lovingly converted from an old blacksmith's forge, to create a haven of comfort, character and charm. Its furnished, walled garden area provides the perfect spot to relax and rest those tired feet after a day exploring the stunning countryside such as the Beacons, the Welsh Fans, one of the many local castles or the Pembrokeshire coast footpath. There are many walks direct from the front door, including Gelli Aur Country Park (a 5 minute walk from the Forge), and from March 2025, the brand new traffic-free cycle track from Llandeilo to Carmarthen will be completed: this will be a fantastic way to see the Tywi Valley, with lovely rural towns to explore at each end. The quaint old town of Llandeilo at one end, is only 4 miles away from the Forge, where you'll find loads of authentic eateries and independent traders. And Carmarthen, the county town of Carmarthenshire, at the other.
The space
The living area beneath its impressive vaulted, beamed ceiling offers all the comforts you'll need for relaxing after days out. The kitchen is fitted with electric oven; ceramic hob; microwave and fridge with freezer compartment, and plenty of storage units. There is a breakfast bar and dining table. Its furnished, walled garden area provides the perfect spot to relax and rest those tired feet after a hike or cycle through the stunning, surrounding countryside, or have a barbecue to soak up the golden sunshine. The double bedroom has plenty of storage with wardrobe and bedside cabinets. All linen is provided, and on arrival guests will find milk, tea, coffee and some goodies to welcome them.
