Pet friendly Primrose Cottage has been our home for 15 years - it is a quaint quarry miners cottage - approx 250 years old. We like to ensure guests feel relaxed and at home during their stay. The cottage is at the end of a small terrace in a quiet and picturesque part of Delabole, known as Pengelly. It is steeped in interesting history, linked to Delabole Slate Quarry The cottage is a perfect base for many of North Cornwall’s sandy beaches and for walking the South West Coastal path. The cottage is in a tucked away location - giving it a feel of tranquility and peace We have a few good walks from our doorstep, to keep your pets happy At the side of the cottage is a walled patio area and utility room - it’s a sunny trap, ideal for relaxing and alfresco eating - great for sundowners after a busy day! The utility room is a secure lockup space for storing gear such as walking boots, bicycles, surfboards etc. Guests will be responsible for keeping the room locked. As the cottage is set back off the road, it does not have its own parking - however there is ample free parking in the Delabole Slate Quarry carpark which is just a few minutes walk back to the cottage Delabole is a working village and the community always make visitors welcome. The village has evolved around the famous 600 year old Delabole Slate Quarry. The viewing point is open and free to visitors and there is a lovely walk which takes in some of the most spectacular views across Cornwall We are within an easy car journey to beaches such as Trebarwith Strand, Polzeath, Crackington Haven and the beaches at Bude Avid fans of the TV series such as Poldark or Doc Martin can take day trips out to the various filming locations such as Port Isaac and Charlestown near St Austell. Padstow, home of Chef Rick Stein is approx half an hours drive away. We guarantee that if you stay with us you won’t have a chance to be bored!
