Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Lovely lodge - described as compact but actually quite spacious. Excellent heating, hot water, and woodburner, so very cosy. Very nice kitchen (only missing a dishwasher, but otherwise well-equipped). Good washing machine and separate dryer, drying rack, warm room for drying gear, plus a warm airing cupboard too - perfect hillwalking base. The hotel has a really excellent restaurant with good food and good service - highly recommended.

Negative: Generally very quiet, but be aware it's on the track from the hotel to the village, so you will get guests strolling past from time to time and taking the odd photo (because the lodge is very pretty).

Summary: Perfect base for hillwalking in this area, in all seasons. We will be back!
