Built in 2005, the 2 to 5 bed apartment is in Morillon 1100, which is part of the Grand Massif ski area linking Morillon to Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoens, Sixt and Morillon village. It is on the ground floor of 'Les Hauts des Esserts' building, which is in Morillon 1100 (Les Esserts), and has free wi-fi and car parking. It is right next to the pistes and Nursery slopes, and only 75 metres from the Sairon chairlift which links with the Grand Massif lift system. There is one double bedroom, one small bedroom with bunk beds (sleep 2) and a sofa bed with a pull-out bed in the lounge. There is also a bathroom (with shower over the bath), separate toilet, kitchen area, balcony looking onto the nursery slope, and a ski locker. Wi-fi is included in the price (not available in the summer).The apartment is close to the Children's nursery and beginner's area. Within 200 metres are the lift pass office, ski shops, supermarket, bars, and restaurants. Morillon 1100 is directly linked to Morillon village, and is only 15 minutes drive from Samoens. More at
Ski details: Morillon is the home of the 2006 Olympic Downhill Champion, Antoine Deneriaz. The Grand Massif lift pass covers 260 kilometres of pistes and covers Morillon/ Samoens/ Les Carroz and Flaine (including the famous 14 kms Cascade run from Flaine to Sixt). If you are based in Morillon 1100 there is no need to drive or take a bus (like you do in Samoens). You can ski door to door. Most of the runs are wide blues and reds through the trees, with easy access to Les Carroz and Samoens. The lift pass includes a days skiing in the Portes du Soleil via nearby Les Gets. Weekend or midweek breaks are available. There is an ESF ski school and Nursery, with a Jam Park with jumps and bumps. There is also a toboggan area. Torchlit descents and complimentary vin chaud are put on in High season. There are weekly markets in Morillon and Samoens. Other activities include Cross Country skiing in the Giffre valley, snowshoe walks and parapenting for the brave. Car hire is usually cheaper than taxis or buses.
Travel details: By Air. Geneva, Lyon and Chambery airports are nearby. Morillon is one hour's drive from Geneva on the A40 motorway. Car Hire (from the Swiss side) can be found on the discount websites. We have details of local transfer and taxi companies.
By Car. You can print an itinerary on the AA site by entering 'Calais/France to 74440/France'. A day's drive (850 km) from Calais or Zeebrugge avoids Paris as the Motorways run via Rheims, Troyes, Dijon, Macon and Geneva. Tolls cost about £50 each way.
By Bus. There is a service from Geneva Airport to Morillon and Samoens. Once in Morillon 1100 a car is not needed but might be useful for visiting the other resorts in the Giffre valley such as Samoens and Sixt, or to get to the Portes du Soleil resorts of Les Gets, Morzine and Avoriaz, or to the Chamonix valley .
