Yewbarrow cottage is a traditional terraced lakeland cottage, situated in the Western Lake District, with stunning views over open countryside to the Wasdale fells incuding Yewbarrow, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and Lingmell . The cottage is also within easy reach of the beautiful beaches of Ravenglass, Drigg, Seascale and St. Bees.
There is walking along footpaths and bridleways out of the back door and just a short drive will take you to the starting point of climbing one of the Western peaks including Englands highest mountain, Scawfell Pike.
There are shops in the local villages of Gosforth, Holmrook and Seascale which can be reached by a 5 minute car journey. The local pub at Santon Bridge is less than a mile away and within walking distance. There are many more pubs and restaurants in the area.
The cottage comfortably sleeps four people in two bedrooms with a double bed in each. The attic bedroom also contains an extra shorty bed for a young child. A travel cot and high chair are available in the cottage along with a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs. The kitchen is well equiped with oak units, a slate floor with under floor heating and a double range electric cooker.
The back garden is mainly lawn and has a patio and barbeque area, ideal for dining outside.
There is wifi, a TV and DVD player available for your entertainment and a good selection of books, maps and pamphlets to give you extra ideas for your days out.
Local attractions not to be missed are Muncaster castle and The La'al Ratty Minature Railway and many more are available within an hours drive.

For families there are great beaches at Seascale, St. Bees and Ravenglass - all with good playgrounds. The lala ratty minature railway and muncaster castle are really great days out, and there are lots of low level walks and lower fells for little fell walkers.
