Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location was very convenient for visiting Alnwick Castle, less than a block away. The apartment itself (Indigo River) was reasonably comfortable, but our experience there was marred by several significant problems.

Negative: The WiFi in the apartment did not work AT ALL. We reported this to the management immediately, and were told it would be several days (after our stay) before they could get it fixed. Looking back at earlier reviews, I now see that the lack of Internet has been an ongoing problem for at least the better part of a year, meaning that management has been very aware of this problem and has chosen not to fix it. So I am skeptical it will be fixed in the coming days. Since we intended to be doing remote work requiring access to WiFi while in the apartment, this was a huge problem for us. Beyond the WiFi issue, we were amazed at the ridiculous ways the management has cut corners in what could otherwise be a nice and functional apartment. For example, they provided exactly ONE roll of toilet paper (no extras) for 4 people for 3 days. When asked if they could provide more, they said that’s all they provide. And ONE hand towel for all four of us—that’s really unhygenic. And there was ONE dishwasher tablet. I mean, really, folks—would it be so hard to provide a couple of extra very cheap items to avoid irritating your customers???

Summary: NO INTERNET, and only 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 hand towel for 4 people for 3 days
