The Space:
Upon entering Croft Cottage, you’ll be welcomed into a light and spacious living room. Featuring a beamed ceiling and sash windows, there is a traditional cottage feel. A neutral colour scheme creates a truly relaxing space to unwind. Curl up on the armchair and get lost in a book or cosy up with your loved one and watch the TV.
The kitchen diner is fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware so you can make the most of your self-catering stay. Enjoy home cooked meals at the dining area which features a wooden, round dining table and matching chairs.
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find the bedroom and bathroom. Ultra cosy, the bedroom has a sloped ceiling and a floral wallpapered feature wall. The comfortable double bed boasts plush bedding and premium bed linens so you can have the best sleep possible. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower, WC and basin.
Head outside and you’ll find an enclosed patio with outdoor seating. Whether you’re enjoying a morning coffee, alfresco meal or evening tipple, this space is great for soaking up the sun.

The Neighborhood:
Croft Cottage is located in the quaint village of Ruswarp on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Lying in the Esk Valley, the village is just two miles from the centre of Whitby so you can reach the bustling seaside town easily. You can enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the river by hiring a rowing boat or canoe. If you’d prefer a delicious pub lunch, head to the village local The Bridge Inn which is a short 3-minute walk from the cottage. The village is also home to Ruswarp Miniature Railway which is a fantastic experience for children and adults alike.
You’ll find narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants in Whitby. There is also a beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts and seaside arcades. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Getting Around:
Croft Cottage is within walking distance of all that Ruswarp has to offer and Whitby is a short 5-minute drive away. If you’d prefer to walk, it’s only a mile and a half on foot using the Cinder Track disused railway line.
Ruswarp train station is a 2-minute walk from the cottage where the Esk Valley line travels between Middlesbrough and Whitby with stops in Danby, Lealholm, Glaisdale and Grosmont along the way.
You can visit other areas surrounding Ruswarp easily via bus. Hop on the Arriva 95 bus route which has stops in Lealholm and Whitby.
