The quiet and beautiful natural countryside is right on the doorstep of these detached cottages. Red Deer Cottage has a light, airy and open plan living area with three delightful bedrooms and a garden which is bordered by a stream. The cottages are just a short drive away from Wheddon Cross, which has a well-stocked convenience store and pubs. Further afield, there is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path, or inland on the moors. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (National Trust), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway, are within an hour’s drive. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy an ice cream whilst walking along, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit to the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (National Trust), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill will make for an interesting day out. Watchet, Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area. There are beaches at Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
