There is an abundance of wildlife includind pheasants, red squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, doves and many other birds that come to the various feeders on the property. The quaint village of Portpatrick where there is a golf course, mini golf, gardens, walks, beach, fishing, restaurants and pubs is a 10 minute drive. The town of Stranraer is a 10 minute drive, where there are grocery shops including Morrisons, Tesco, Farmfood and Lidl, also banks, shops, pubs and restaurants. The Mull of Galloway, the most southern point of Scotland, is a 40 minute drive and well worth a visit as there is an RSPB reserve, lighthouse, coffie house and spectacular panoramic views. Port Logan is a small fishing village with a large beach, botanic gardens and the fish pond is on the way to the Mull. The Galloway forest is great for mountain biking, walking, sightseeing and is about 40 minutes away.
