At the south end of the village visitors can find the Lighthouse Pottery, offering stunning views of the area, and evoking the sense of an amphitheatre, with a line of attractive buildings stretching across the skyline. Portpatrick is also home to one of the 30 life-boat stations in Scotland, offering an exhibition that is well worth a visit. There is an excellent beach with launching ramp, both rock and freshwater fishing, and several boats, which transport sea anglers out from the harbour to catch warsse, cod, mackerel, whiting, plaice and skate. With golfing, bowling, and tennis facilities close by, Portpatrick is the perfect location for a relaxing break.
