On a Georgian English country estate is Gardener Cottage. Linked to the grand mansion house via a courtyard of historic buildings surrounded by stunning Devonshire rolling hills. The Estate enjoys 27 acres of lakes, woods, fields and play areas and a heated indoor swimming pool.
Gardener Cottage has two double bedrooms both with sumptuous king size beds and a third box bedroom suitable for a child or to be used as a study. The cottage enjoy fantastic Satellite Wi-Fi facilities so bring your work with you if you must!
The bathroom has a full bath and drenching shower to wash away all the sand after a great day at one of our local beaches.
There is ample parking on the estate and we welcome well behaved Dogs.
Downstairs you'll find a well appointed small kitchen, open plan to a traditional sitting room and dining area. A log burner creates a romantic glow for couples weekending away to enjoy the countryside.

A rural haven deep in the countryside, West Ford is a 27 acre estate with breathtaking views over the rolling verdant hills of north Devon and Exmoor national park. At the heart of the estate is a Georgian Manor house; with its spacious East Wing offering lavish comfort, its own courtyard & outdoor dining space, an Aga kitchen, and inspiring views over gardens and countryside from spacious bedrooms.
To the west lies a courtyard of cottages, each decorated to its own theme with fully-equipped kitchens and log burners. The indoor heated swimming pool opening in 2022 serves all the accommodation and guests. Enjoy all the region has to offer; from the staggeringly beautiful Exmoor national Park with its wild moorlands and pretty villages, to the dramatic coastline with clifftop walks and a wonderous variety of sandy beaches, to the zoos and adventure parks that make North Devon a fantastic destination for families.
Whatever the holiday you want, West Ford is an easy drive to all that North Devon and Exmoor has to offer.
But there's plenty to do without even leaving the estate. Enjoy a swim in our indoor heated pool (seasons and Covid restrictions may alter availability). Take a stroll in the gardens and enjoy the ever-changing colours and scents. Explore the ponds and streams running through the estate. Bask in the peace and stillness as you enjoy the rolling vistas. Take a picnic or a sunset drink down to the lake; or borrow a paddleboard for the afternoon. Walk your dogs through our fields or hunt for fairies with your children in our woods. Have lunch on the lawn or explore the fountain for newts. Have a game of pool or table football in our games room; or take a board game or DVD back to your cottage. Master your somersaults on our trampoline, hang out with your toddlers in our playground or race your sticks in the stream at ‘Pooh Corner’. There’s plenty to make your stay a truly relaxing and refreshing break.
