De Panne is located at the westernmost point of Belgium, just a few kilometres from historic centres such as Bruges, Ypres and the French town of Dunkirk and right on the border with France. The municipality of De Panne is embedded in the most beautiful nature reserves in Belgium, such as the Westhoek State Nature Reserve. The Belgian coast has created the widest sandy beach in Belgium at this point, where the North Sea merges into the English Channel.
