Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The Location of the property was fantastic, just a short walk into the city centre. Overall cleanliness and tidiness of the property was good and the beds were comfy. Hosts were responsive and check-in/out was very easy.

Negative: The property was poorly stocked with essentials for 4 people staying for a weekend. Towels were provided but only in bedrooms. One of us had to sacrifice one of our bathroom hand towels to triple up as: Kitchen hand towel, bathroom hand towel and oven glove. Not ideal for hygiene. The gas oven was borderline dangerous. All of the knobs had, or were, falling out and it made it very difficult to switch the hobs or oven on/off. Documents were shared ahead of our stay on how to operate many items in the property, the oven was not one of them. The Kitchen was poorly stocked with many standard utensils required for cooking with almost all of the cupboards empty. Other than cutlery and chopping knives, there wasn't anything else. A spatula or mixing spoon wouldn't go a miss. There was one wok, one saucepan, one frying pan, one baking tray - not enough to cook anything substantial for a group of four. There weren't any mixing bowls, so we have to mix pancake batter in an ice bucket. There were small glass tumblers available but only one larger glass. We did find plastic pint cups, but these are a poor substitute and would expect better from a rental property. The instant coffee that was left for guests was so old that it has become one solid puck in the jar. There was no hand soap and the washing up liquid that was left had been watered down to within an inch of its life. There was a Firestick, but no USB power adapter available so that we could use it. Blinds in the bedrooms were literal paper. Ok for privacy, but most of us were woken up at 6am when the sun came up. Whilst I appreciate there was a legitimate reason for them, we all found the cameras front and back to be a bit creepy and they did not fill us with confidence about the local area. I would be shocked if this wasn't a student house during term time. Perhaps ok for long term renters providing a lot of their own things, but more consideration required for short stay visitors.

Summary: Offers good value for money but avoid if you plan on eating in.
