Step inside and feel instantly at ease in this characterful and spacious former post office. Thoughtfully renovated with comfort and togetherness in mind, The Old Post Office at Holmfirth has everything you need for a relaxed, memorable stay — whether you're hosting a special celebration or simply enjoying time with friends and family.
At the heart of the home is a large, welcoming living area with an open fire, where high ceilings, original beams, and soft furnishings create the perfect setting to gather, play games, or settle in for a cosy movie night on the Smart TV. The generous dining area — with a long table seating 16 — turns every meal into an occasion, whether it's a home-cooked feast or a takeaway from one of Holmfirth's many local gems.
The well-equipped kitchen is designed for entertaining, featuring double ovens, a large American-style fridge/freezer, two dishwashers, and all the cookware, crockery, and glassware you'll need — plus a Nespresso machine for your morning brew.
For even more space to unwind, head downstairs to the characterful games room, complete with a pool table and dartboard, and a second, comfortable living room with its own Smart TV. It's an ideal space for movie nights, laid-back evenings, or a retreat for younger guests — perfect for fun, informal gatherings that last well into the evening.
With eight stylish bedrooms spread across two floors, everyone has their own space to relax. The layout is ideal for multi-generational families, mixed groups, or friends sharing — and with six en-suite bathrooms plus two additional family bathrooms, there's plenty of room for everyone to get ready without a wait.
Outside, the enclosed wraparound garden offers peaceful countryside views and a safe, secure space for children and dogs to play. A handy utility room with washer and dryer makes longer stays a breeze, and free enclosed parking — complete with EV charging point — adds to the comfort and convenience.
Cosy, sociable, and full of thoughtful touches, The Old Post Office at Holmfirth truly is your home away from home.
On the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines, in the picturesque Holme Valley, is the historic, traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth. Holmfirth, made popular by the television series The Last of the Summer Wine, is not only Compo and Nora Batty's stocking town! The best live music venue in the North of England, the "Picturedrome," is in the heart of the city and draws many well-known bands. The 2014 Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire pelotons both passed through this small Holme Valley village on their way up the famous 524-meter Holme Moss climb, which is located two miles away. Cycling's three-time Olympic medalist Ed Clancy was raised on these hills.
