The wealthy Highlands The name Comrie, which means "a place where rivers meet," comes from the Gaelic term conruith and is suitable given that the village is situated at the meeting point of three rivers that eventually flow into the Tay. Standing stones and archaeological ruins can be seen nearby, indicating the region was populated in prehistoric times. Weaving and its location on the droving route from the Highlands to lowland Scotland and England contributed to Comrie's early success. With its perfect location for exploring the mountains and lochs nearby, as well as tourist sites like Earthquake House and Auchingarrich Wildlife Park, the modern community benefits from wildlife and adventure tourism.
