Skyfell is a beautifully presented Victorian end of terrace house in the residential area of Keswick, a few minutes' walk from the bustling market square. This property is an ideal base for a family break in the northern Lake District. The front door welcomes you into the hallway, then into the dual aspect lounge, with leather sofas and armchairs arranged around the woodburning stove and Smart TV. The modern Shaker style kitchen has integrated appliances and quartz worktop, fully equipped with all you need, and the family-sized dining table will be great for sociable meals. There's also a handy pantry and utility room, as well as a downstairs cloakroom with WC, then a back door to the patio and parking. Stairs lead to the first floor and two beautifully furnished bedrooms, one double, to the front of the house, and to the rear, a lovely king-size. These two bedrooms are complemented by the elegant family bathroom with feature twin sinks, bath with shower over and WC. A further flight of stairs leads to the top floor and bedroom three, which is twin bedded with its own smart and modern en-suite shower room. Please note some limited headroom in this room due to the eaves of the house. To the rear of the house, there's a patio with garden furniture and room for outdoor dining. Keswick is a friendly market town that has twice weekly markets, which recently won the coveted 'Best Outdoor Market' award. There's also a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and outdoor clothing. There's also a delicious range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars, and a quirky 100-year-old Alhambra Cinema, offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings, or enjoy some live theatre or music at the Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater. Beautiful Derwentwater offers serene lake cruises, boat hire and paddle board activities. You're spoilt for choice with walks up Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horseshoe and Blencathra. Ashness Bridge and Surprise View, a short drive away above the Borrowdale Valley, should not be missed; nor should the unspoilt village of Watendlath. Head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest; explore the exquisite beauty of Borrowdale and the Scafell range. For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away, offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
