2 Bedroom Cottage in Burgh Island, Kingston upon Thames
On the edge of Kingston, beside a quiet road, is this 18th century cottage on the end of a terrace. Cosy and homely, with countryside views from the garden, it is welcoming accommodation for families or anyone wanting to explore the coast. From the little front garden, head through stable doors into your snug sitting room where you can curl up beside the wood burning stove and watch the new smart TV. The kitchen is light, with its glazed roof and doors to open to the garden on a fine day, and comes fully equipped with a table for family meals. Old stairs wind up to two comfortable bedrooms, one with charming ancient panelling. The spacious garden at the back is safely enclosed, with steps down from the patio area to lawn where you can stretch out on sun loungers or eat alfresco. A handy shed is provided for storing your bikes and surfboards, and it contains a set of golf clubs to try your skills at the Bigbury cliff top course. Your surfboards will come in handy down at the glorious sandy beach in Bigbury-on-Sea where the waves are excellent and there is a popular surf school for some experienced tuition, or head to pretty Wonwell to try paddleboarding and kayaking. At the end of a busy day, you can stroll 500 yards to Kingston's excellent pub for convivial company. 1 Gabberwell Cottages is in an excellent place for enjoying the lovely coast and countryside.
Kingston is a very pretty Devon village, well off the beaten track in an AONB, one mile from the River Erme's beautiful wooded estuary and sandy Wonwell beach.
