The historic village of Allerston makes a lovely base for your countryside escape, here you can find scenic splendour all around you, as well as multiple walking routes from your doorstep. For all of your local amenities Thornton-le-Dale can be found just a short drive away where you will find a local shop, pubs, tea rooms with gift shop, as well as easy access into the National Park. The North York Moors National Park boasts a wide range of natural wonders. Visit the nearby Dalby Forest with its thirteen walking trails, six cycling routes and four running trails, as well as two play areas, Go Ape and a café, it makes a fantastic day out at any time of the year. The wider area of the National Park promises even more fun in the form of horse riding, stargazing and much more. Nearby is the bustling village of Pickering which hosts the terminus of the famous North York Moors Steam Railway, which winds its way through heather clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby.
