For any historians, a visit to the English Heritage site of Wingfield Manor is a must; once a remarkable manor house, its impressive 15th century ruins tell the story of battles of the past. Visitors will find any amenities they require in the neighbouring market town of Alfreton, while just a short drive away is the village of Crich, home to the National Tramway Museum, where you can journey back in time with a ride on their world-renowned vintage trams, showcasing spectacular countryside views and informative exhibitions, ideal for all ages.
