Whitlingham Country Park is located 15 minutes’ drive, a beautiful spot to go for a walk around the large lake or partake in water sports, kayak, paddle board and boat hire. Surlingham Church Marsh is a nature reserve managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and offers diverse habitats and a chance to spot wildlife. Wander along the trails that wind through reed beds, marshes and grazing marshes, and keep an eye out for birds, butterflies and other wildlife. The Ted Ellis Nature Reserve is also in walking distance of the property.
Surlingham and its surrounding countryside offer a plethora of scenic countryside walks. Enjoy Surlingham Circular Walk which includes a stroll along the riverside, or there is the Wherryman’s Way, a 35 mile stretch along the River Yare offering stunning views of the Broads and the peaceful countryside. The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth offers plenty of activities including fun fair, amusements, pier, crazy golf, a Sea Life Centre, indoor leisure pool and wide sandy beach with donkey rides, bouncy castles and trampolines (seasonal opening). Pub and café within 1 mile. Supermarket 7 miles. Sandy beaches and seaside activities 24 miles. The historic and vibrant city of Norwich is a 15-minute drive away.
