It has been tastefully finished to a high standard, whilst retaining some original features including sandstone pillars which can be enjoyed in all the rooms. Linked to the rest of the Abbey by the historic Cloisters walkway, it is beautifully co-ordinated with contemporary décor, beautiful tartan soft furnishings and has the original stone pillars throughout. Situated on the first floor (no lift available) and offering plenty of comfort and space for couples or families, with two bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the living room. The large open-plan living area features a fantastic seating area with white leather settees and a large Flatscreen TV with a superb surround sound system for you to enjoy. The glass dining table allows seating for up to six people with matching white leather chairs. The stylish fully fitted kitchen has granite worktops and features a Tassimo coffee maker and a full complement of high quality kitchen equipment. In the large master bedroom suite, you will find a kingsize white leather bed, a Flatscreen TV and radio alarm with iPod doc. The en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom has both a bath and a separate powerful shower. The second bedroom has matching twin beds and benefits from an adjacent bathroom with a bath and a powerful shower above.
Fort Augustus Abbey is a wonderful place to enjoy your holiday or short break, set amongst 20 acres of private grounds, surrounded by mysterious Loch Ness, two rivers, and the picturesque Caledonian Canal. There are a variety of free on-site activities available to guests (pre-book only) including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, playground, tennis court, gym (all pre-book only), children’s playground, football goals, snooker table, table football, table tennis. Minutes from apartment is the small Highland village of Fort Augustus. Situated on the most southern tip of Loch Ness, and with the Caledonian Canal running through the village to Loch Ness, it is a wonderful place to relax, watch the boats go through the locks, with many places to eat and drink and shop. There is plenty to do, with daily boat trips onto Loch Ness, the Great Glen Way walking trail and Great Glen Canoe Trail, a golf club, an interactive heritage centre and of course, Loch Ness monster hunting. The Isle of Skye is just over an hour away and reached by one of the most beautiful drives in Scotland, taking you through the Kintail mountain range. On route, Eileen Donan Castle is definitely worth a visit, as is the beautiful coastal village Plockton, much loved by artists. The beautiful city of Inverness and Fort William, the outdoor capital of the Highlands, are both just a 45-minute drive away.
