Peace, quiet and tranquility amongst the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Explore the old big barn, the paddock, protected forest and our courtyard garden, all within the property. The Barn is part of a group of buildings that comprised an old farm complex. Each of the buildings are of different ages. The Barn is dated about 1802. It has a relatively modern interior but still retains the beams. Although not a Listed building it is part of the Conservation area and thus has some unique attributes because of that. The staircase to the bedroom is quite steep and the beams in the bedroom are low on the edge.
The Barn has one bedroom and is Mezzanine style. It overlooks the living room. The living room and bedroom are vaulted. Down stairs is open plan with the bathroom located at the back left side of the kitchen. The kitchen area is open plan with the living room. It is well equipped but if we are missing something, more than likely we have it!
Parking is the under the lean to barn opposite the entrance door to the property. There are two doors both of which are private.
The rooms are bright and colorful with a lot of outdoor light brought in by the large glass door and windows on the end of the barn. This side gets morning sunlight
We actually use the property ourselves on occasion.. so it is not furnished cheaply.. it is furnished to enjoy and be comfortable.. we hope you feel the same way.
Bi and myself run the property and we live a stone's throw away in the event you need our help. We do share the courtyard garden with the Barn but the whole property is quite large and has privacy. in} addition to the shared garden, you have a a courtyard looking up to the large barn and a beautiful pasture and conservation forest at the back of the property.
The area is full of wildlife, birds particularly. It's quiet, you will notice that on a night! It is very dark too.. as a conservation village there are not street lights. Sounds ridiculous but on a night it is totally black!!
For those of you very active there are many walking and bike paths both national and local.. some of which pass right outside our house. There's plenty to do in the area; Stately Homes and their grounds; forests, beaches, National Parks, and of course the ancient cities of York and Beverley are quite close. There's always something going on. If you are unfamiliar with the area, let us know..tell us your interests and we can help you make the most of your time...whatever you like to do
The Barn has lots of extras over and above..blackout curtains and white privacy curtains on every window together with fly screens. Sun loungers and chairs in a private pasture and forest. Fire pit, BBQ, 75 inch screen smart TV with sound system and bass speaker, Bluetooth speaker, Loaf super comfortable chairs and sofa, neff appliances, dishwasher, a private conservation forest...and lots more
