Outside enjoy a decked area with rattan garden furniture, perfect to return to after a day exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Close to the Yorkshire Dales but ideally positioned off the main routes of the A66 Pennine Way and the A1 Scotch Corner, guests will find themselves within easy driving distance of many popular attractions and locations. The historic and picturesque market town of Barnard Castle can be easily reached within a short drive and offers guests the opportunity to explore the popular Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, and Raby Castle, as well as the weekly farmer’s market and quaint high street. The Georgian market town of Richmond is just five miles away and once again is a great location for guests wanting to visit the impressive historic castle, Georgian theatre, marketplace and also indulge in one of the many traditional tea shops and bakeries there. The cathedral city of Durham is only a 30-minute drive away and offers guests the opportunity to explore this World Heritage Site.
A little further afield but still within an hour’s drive are Catterick Races, Masham, Harrogate, Ripon, Thirsk, and York. It is a perfect base for walkers, ramblers and cyclists with many established public footpaths, riverside walks, cycle paths and bridleways that lead through some of the most unspoilt countryside that Yorkshire and County Durham has to offer.
