It is set within the grounds of the owners’ working beef and sheep farm, accessed by a 50 yard rough track, but still very private and quiet. If you want to get away from it all and let the children enjoy a great outdoors experience then these lodges are perfect. With their own little wood adjacent your children have an exciting place to play. There’s a small footpath that leads to one of the most stunning viewpoints in North Yorkshire known as Surprise View. With fantastic walks on the doorstep and great cycling trails nearby there’s lots for you to do. For those who love walking, cycling and nature then these lodges have everything for you too. After a long day walking and exploring the area you can stroll down to the local pub for an evening meal. The pretty market towns of Thirsk, Pickering and Helmsley are just a short drive away and from Pickering you can catch the steam train that takes you over the moors to Whitby, calling at Goathland where the TV programme ’Heartbeat’ was filmed. Whitby is a very popular holiday destination and well worth a visit during your stay. Stop by and sample its famous fish and chips. The seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey are approximately 30 minutes drive away. The medieval city of York is just an hour by car where there are lots of independent shops, street entertainers, museums and theatres.
