Positive: I'm somewhat ambivalent about this property but I am stating at the outset that we have rebooked it for next year because of its positive attributes. The location, in the Old City of Nice, is superb. There is garage parking included and the elevator is essential for an apartment on the sixth floor. Communications with the rental agency were also superb. The apartment has its own website with all the information that is needed for accessing the keys etc. If the review was restricted to just these two aspects then it would rate five stars. The apartment itself is quite good enough for four adults or a family but it is slightly let down by having just a single WC, although this is the norm for apartments that are built as family accommodation. The two bedrooms are big enough for their purpose and the lounge/kitchen/diner is also quite large, but see below. The apartment was warm enough for a winter stay. I don't know how hot it would be in summer but the windows and balcony doors can be opened to help with ventilation.

Negative: The kitchenette is tired, with a distinct lack of working space and relatively ancient fixtures and fitting. There is also a lack of crockery and cutlery. In my opinion an apartment intended to host four adults should have at least 8 of everything since the dishwasher is often stacked with one complete set of dinnerware. There is a decent TV but little room to relax in front of it. Seating consists of 6 dining chairs and a tired sofa and this aspect is difficult to improve since a large part of the lounge is occupied by a grand piano - good for spreading maps and guides but otherwise useless to us.
