Located within a complex of four cottages in rural Broadhempston, there are South Devon destinations nearby that make lovely, romantic days out: Dartmoor National Park (11.5 miles) is a wonderful area to ramble and wildlife watch while scenic Blackpool Sands Beach in Dartmouth (19.5 miles) and colourful Torquay (10.5 miles) make ideal beach days. The latter has a harbour and a marina so make sure you stop for a delightful seafood lunch with a view of the bobbing boats.
Take in the outside of this cottage, that’s as charming as the inside, then head up the five steps to the first-floor entrance. Here you’ll find a living and dining room that’s stylishly decorated yet retains impressive traditional features: think chic, bright furniture beside painted stone walls and overhead beams, which continue throughout the house. Get the wood burner crackling using the complimentary logs and turn on the Smart TV for a cosy night in your rural retreat. Dine in this snug room using the table and two chairs. On the mezzanine, there’s a rustic kitchen with everything you need and then down more stairs to the ground floor, there’s the shower room and classic king-size bedroom. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in a shared laundry room.
Extensive outdoor space (which contains slopes) and facilities add to your getaway. Shared with the other holiday cottages and the owners’ farmhouse, you can enjoy 4 acres of beautiful orchard; and a private lawn garden with table, chairs and a charcoal BBQ - perfect for al fresco dining in the fresh, country air. If the sun isn’t shining, you needn’t worry as there’s a shared indoor heated swimming pool for guests to enjoy a dip. At the pool (with exclusive time sessions) the shared, furnished veranda overlooks sweeping countryside and boasts a sunken hot tub so you can relax in luxury, overlooking South Devon’s famous scenery.
