This is a great spot from which to explore the Berwickshire and the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with fascinating little villages, working harbours, stately homes and castles to be discovered. Catch the local bus into Berwick-upon-Tweed, 2 miles, with its Elizabethan ramparts, good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a railway station which connects to Edinburgh and Newcastle in 50 minutes. Nearby, visit the tidal Holy Island, or take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the Farne Island puffins and seals. Explore the Northumberland National Park, famous for the Dark Skies Park, and the coastal path. Beach 100 yards. Shop and pub 530 yards, restaurant ½ mile.
